Bought these to help me make the transition to a minimalist running style like so many others these days. I needed something that would allow the muscles and tendons of my foot to continue to work more as designed, but that would be suitable for casual dress. This positively fit the bill.I bought the brown and they look excellent with a pair of khakis, cargos or blue jeans. They avoid the inevitable stares of the toe-shoes and meet most business-casual dress codes. I wear them for business travel and for light & fast trail hikes.The sole is a tough Vibram wedge that narrows through the mid-foot, requiring your arches and their supporting muscles to work. The near zero-drop design will also give your calves/Achilles a workout if you're used to a cushioned sole, so be forewarned.The leather is tough but supple and the lace eyelet placement allows you to tighten things up so it fits like a glove, hence its name.After a good month or two of wearing these for my primary daytime shoe, both in town and on the trails, I have to say I'm pleased. They make the transition seamless between work and recreation.I have to say, I think the mesh variations would be better if you're looking primarily for a running shoe, but these have done well enough on a few short trail runs.Sizing was true for a 9.5 and comfortable enough for someone who requires a wide toe-box.
